A Moment of Perfection
Those who know me know that I have moved quite a bit in my life. This is the longest I have actually stayed in one apartment. Even in my student years I changed quite a bit. Now I don't like moving. Especially since around moving day most people seem to find somewhere else to be. The one thing that always keeps me carrying boxes .... decorating. I looove decorating .... choosing colours .... I think my bed has seen every wall and every corner of my bedroom. So as soon as I had the tiniest bit of hope that the big move was coming up I decorated my new apartment. Mind you, I don't have one yet but whatever or wherever it is going to be, it is decorated.
Last weekend I decided to go idea shopping. See, in my head I wanted a corner sofa. Ooooh the endless possibilities of draping one's body on a sofa. I always enjoy having options when watching TV. North, South, upside down ... comfort being the end goal. Corner sofas are a bit expensive so I had to come up with a plan B. Something rattan maybe? Although it might be a bit too beach house. So out I went idea-shopping. First store had nothing except price tags with four figures. And to be honest, none of them caught my eye and made me want to jump on them snuggling with my pillows.
So it was with mixed emotions when I entered the second store. I just saw dozens of sofas and my blood was still running uneventfully. So strolling I turned the corner and stopped short. Spotlights came on, the music rose and violins played. A moment of perfection. The sofa! Standing proudly amongst its more boring and dusty distant family members. A colour so bright I needed my sunglasses. Bright red with a black motif on the pillows it stood waiting for me. The cushions plumped and inviting. "Come and sit, take a load of, grab the remote and just enjoy", it whispered to me. And of course I did just that. Yes, in the middle of the store I sat down and stretched out. People take cars out for a test drive so anyone dares to tell me I shouldn't have?
Today this master piece got delivered. It now sits wrapped in plastic waiting for its new home. I can hear it calling my name but I'm sure I can practice restraints. Or not ...

When do we get to see it?
